One serious flaw at the core
Review written by: Ronald Fife From Bulls Gap, TN
Although Dr. Hawkins offers great insight into the spiritual and psychological aspects of consciousness, I believe there is an error at the core of his teaching that might explain his rather far right political views. He spends considerable time explaining how the lower levels of consciousness are responsible for war and genocide. Yet, he offers a chapter justifying the preemptive war in Iraq. He explains that people at low levels are basically innocent, naive and ignorant yet places strong blame upon them for the worlds problems. He infers that people at higher levels should come down and respond to others at their own level because they would not understand and reject a higher level response. I think this is the flaw. I believe we should be aspiring to higher levels and respond to others at our highest level possible. Reacting out of fear at a lower level only feeds the egos on both sides of the conflict. It seems Dr. Hawkins has some fear to overcome if he wishes to reach those higher levels of love and compassion.

bryans review:

everything that you were taught as a child should be applied to everyday life with an adequate amount of valid spirituality of some sort. There. It's not 600 pages and doesnt cost $20 but thats what the book is about in a sentence. And you can see if i'm true by the muscles twitching in your arm as you hold that thought in mind. Did you know it's healthier to your soul and life and future to watch Groundhog Day instead of Passion of Christ? Now you do. Be as smart as Mariam, Dave Hawkins and me. Buy this book and comprehend it with every fiber of your being and spiritual will and let go of everything and be at peace with IT

This book made me uncomfortable
Review written by: Quiet Traveller From Alaska
I hesitate to step into the fray regarding David Hawkins, but hope to give a balanced assessment of this book, not his politics, as that isn't the point. I read his three earlier books with great interest and appreciation, but also with mounting concern. I am a spiritual seeker, and am open to teachings from all walks, so I was very open to his insights. But TvF confirmed for me that the author has a certain amount of ego invested in being a Spiritual Teacher. It has nothing to do with his politics as I am a registered Independent, but more the leap over the edge into guru-ism, not conservatism. That a teaching has to be defended so zealously, and detractors denounced so rabidly really made me sit back and look at his teaching more carefully. The fact that the truth he writes of is so dependent on a kinesiological reaction finally made me wake up. I was starting to depend, for my truth, on the kinesiological reaction of another person. I have never been able to get a strong or consistent kinesiological response on issues, and at times, doubted myself or my truth, in favor of his, which is not a good place to put oneself as a spiritual seeker. At that point it becomes more guru-ism or personality cult-ish.
This book confirmed those concerns for me, as personally assigning levels of truth to politics, foods, movies, etc. is much like using illusion to denounce illusion. Some of his spiritual/philosophical writing of earlier books is helpful, but anytime he got near assigning numbers to truth based on his infallible technique of muscle-testing, I started getting uncomfortable.
Because the two are so intertwined in his teachings, I've elected to pass on his future books, and him as a particular teacher. For those who get real value from his teaching, I don't wish to denounce that, only in following a person, blindly, in everything they say or do. Spiritual maturity probably has to do with following one's own inner light, and being able to question the teaching of any other human on this earth, no matter who they are.

The truth will set you free
Review written by: Steve Waite From Shelton, CT USA
"the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him." -John 14:17,NKJ

Let us rejoice and be glad that Dr. David R. Hawkins sees and knows the Spirit of truth. This book is a tremendous gift to mankind. In fact, I reckon it is decades ahead of its time. Many people fear the truth. If you are one of these people, you should not read this book. For those not interested in the truth, the ego will assert its dominance, as it is prone to do, and reject "Truth vs Falsehood." We really shouldn't be surprised by many negative reviews of this book on Amazon.com. The world cannot receive the light contained in this book. I haven't done the calibrations, but I would suspect that many of the negative reviews on Amazon.com and elsewhere are from people who calibrate below 200 (the level of Falsehood). All the negativity aside, if you are seeking to be set free, I highly recommend "Truth vs Falsehood." But, after reading this book, don't stop there. I strongly recommend that you read all of Dr. Hawkins' books, beginning with "Power vs Force." Read them and meditate deeply. Ask God to reveal the light they contain. As Jesus Christ (calibration 1,000) told us all long ago, it is the truth that sets us free (John 8:32). May you be free.

If I could give it zero stars I would

I have read MANY wonderful books as I travel my path, from CIM, Goldsmith, Lanyon, I AM THAT, Tolle, Disappearance, even some Abe-Hicks..... etc. This book is OFF.
Why/how would anyone try to "calibrate" Truth ?? Come on. Whatever your spiritual text...it's value is ONLY in it's capacity to awaken Truth IN YOU. I am NOT saying Truth is variable, but the words a person can "hear" and that will call forth insights leading to the Truth (which can only be found within) are variable...therefore no one else's calibration of "spiritual" text could be meaningful to anyone, except possibly themselves. Various books/words may serve that purpose for different individuals. How could someone outside of you determine the Truth "pointing value" a certain text would have for YOU? The "calibration" would vary depending on the reader and what it elicited in him/her. I have not read any other bks by Hawkins. He may have had an enlightenment experience, but apparently lost touch with it. The only thing this book "offered" me was an opportunity for forgiveness. An perhaps that is important for me to attend to.
